Verna H Blondell, 96 entered eternal rest on Monday (May 28, 2018) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of celebration of Mrs. Blondell’s life at Norsen Park on Pulver Road, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mrs. Blondell was born the daughter of the late Albert and Lena (Shears) Henkel on Monday (December 19, 1921) in Lyons, N.Y. She spent her life in the Newark area, graduating from Newark Schools class of 1940. In 1945 she married Arthur Blondell. Together they raised four children while operating The Blondell Bros. Dairy Farm. During that time, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Newark Manor Nursing Home for a few years. Mrs. Blondell also worked for the New York Telephone Company in Newark for a period of time.
Mrs. Blondell will be remembered by her sons, Scott (Donna) Blondell of Newark and Todd (Caren) Blondell of Clifton Springs; daughter, Dianne (Alfred) Lindstrom of Palmyra; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Connie Blondell; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Blondell was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Blondell in 2001; son, Duane Blondell; and brother, Melvin Henkel on May 1, 2018.
