A 90-year-old Canandaigua husband and wife suffered a broken hip and leg after being involved in a two-car accident in the area of State Routes 5 & 20 and Middle Chesire Road in Canandaigua Thursday.
32-year-old Emmanuel Davis, of Geneva, was traveling east on 5 & 20 when he failed to stop for a red light at the Middle Cheshire intersection. The Wright’s vehicle was struck in the driver’s side door, causing the vehicle’s airbags to deploy. James Wright was extricated from his car by Cheshire Firefighters using the jaws of life. He suffered a hip fracture and was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. His wife, Diane Wright, suffered a broken leg and was taken to the same hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance. The Wright’s were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
