Izola Mae (Bookout) Noble, 94, died peacefully April 30, 2018, at The Home of the Good Shepard in Malta, N.Y.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Seneca Falls First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday (May 26, 2018) with Rev. Valerie White officiating. Interment in Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Contributions may be made to “The Birthday Fund” at Seneca Falls First United Methodist Church, 2 Chapel St. Seneca Falls, NY 13148. This fund was suggested by Zoe as a way to raise funds for church renovations. Remembrances may also be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
Zoe was born in 1923 in Christian County, Missouri, the daughter of Henry C. and Rena (Denney) Bookout. She married Claude “Buck” A. Noble in 1943 and returned with him to his hometown of Clyde, NY in 1944. In addition to raising four children, Zoe worked on their small family farm and was active in the local Grange organization. Zoe was a very creative person. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and crafting. In her later years, after moving to Seneca Falls in 2005, she was an active member of the quilting group at Seneca Falls First United Methodist Church. She was also an avid Yankees baseball fan.
Izola’s family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Home of the Good Shepherd and Community Hospice for their care and compassion throughout her final journey.
Survived by her daughter, Claudia (Joe) Allison; her son, Ronald “Skip” Noble; siblings Ruth Hemmer, Vivian Bookout Chauvin, and Darrell (Ruth Fern) Bookout; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many loving family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Claude Noble; two sons Larry Joe (Glenda) Noble and Leslie (Susan) Noble; sister, Phyllis McMurray; daughter-in-law, Karen Noble.
