Auburn native Joe Holland has announced he is seeking the Republican Party nomination to run for New York State Attorney General in November.
Earlier this month, Holland told Finger Lakes News Radio party officials approached him to consider abandoning his run for the gubernatorial nomination to run for the Attorney General’s office.
As the New York Republican State Committee designating convention begins in New York City, he has growing support of county chairs and is building additional support throughout the state.
He tells Finger Lakes News Radio the Eric Schneiderman scandal indicates the need for a change of leadership in the A-G’s office.
The Harvard Law graduate has spent the past 35 years improving the lives of people in Harlem, but he still calls Auburn home.
State GOP leaders will select the party’s candidate for Attorney General on Thursday.
