The closing earlier this month of Feher Rubbish Removal of Waterloo has caused a public emergency for residents in the southern Seneca County Town of Ovid.
Monday night the Ovid Town Board will declare a public emergency and wave the competitive bidding process for solid waste pick-up and disposal. The board is expected to offer quotes from other companies to pick up the trash.
The Ovid Town Board meets at 7 p. m. at the Fire House.
Meanwhile, Waterloo officials say former Feher customers have been leaving their garbage at the cpompany’s closed Border City Road location.
State and local officials plan to meet Monday to determine what to do with the garbage that accumulates at the company’s site.
