The City of Auburn’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year is close to being finalized. A public hearing will be held at next week’s City Council meeting with a vote of the finalized spending plan set for the June 7 meeting.
City Manager Jeff Dygert said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News it includes a 1% increase over the current budget.
City officials crafted the budget with the help of former Comptroller Laura Wills, who resigned in February. Dygert said the city is close to hiring her replacement.
The $34.2 Million spending plan includes a tax levy increase that will save the city from dipping into its reserve fund to balance the budget.
