The rumors are apparently true. Feher Rubbish Removal will be out of business at the end of the day today.
Cicero Supervisor Mark Venesky told WSYR-TV in Syracuse Mike Feher told him the company had gone out of business and that final pickups will be completed Friday. The city of Geneva announced late Friday it will add Finger Lakes Disposal as an option for residential trash hauling.
A family owned garbage business could be on the verge of closing across Upstate New York.
Spectrum News reports residents in Lyons, Savannah, Clyde, and Geneva say Feher Rubbish Removal has been missing pickup days for weeks. A former employee, tells Spectrum News the trucks were brand new. Then everything started to change when the new trucks were returned and replaced with “very old rear load trucks.”
There are some news reports this morning that the company will soon close. Many customers and former employees are taking to Facebook to discuss the company’s pending closure. Feher’s Waterloo operation was open this morning with trucks parked at the Border City location. Feher Rubbish’s corporate offices in Syracuse have not released any comments.
Feher’s website says they pick-up garbage and recyclables from Utica to Rochester and Watertown to Ithaca.
