Dorothy Bouwens, 84, died Tuesday (May 1, 2018).
A graveside funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday (May 12, 2018) at the East Palmyra Cemetery Hogback Road, Palmyra.
Dorothy was born on February 23, 1934 in Wellsville, New York, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mable Borden Nichols. She had worked for the East Palmyra Post Office for many years and the last four years she was the Assistant Post Master. For the next thirteen years Dorothy was a clerk for the Pioneer Library System. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark and a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her children Gloria (Audie Arliss) Hermanet of Clifton Springs, Gregory (Diane Elmer-Millson) Bouwens of Palmyra, and Ginger (Gerald) Sullivan of Palmyra; seven grandchildren Christopher, Chad, Kenny, Jennifier, Dakota, Whisper and Bethanny; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth in 2000; her siblings Ruth Wamser and Herbert Nichols.
