On April 27, State Troopers arrested 30-year old Derek Haines of Auburn for driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC greater than .08%, improper signal, moving from lane unsafely, operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection certificate, inadequate exhaust system and a stop/stand/park violation.
Haines was stopped on Lake Ave in the Town of Fleming for having an inadequate exhaust and moving from the lane unsafely. While being stopped, he came to a complete stop in the middle of the left lane. He was placed under arrest after failing multiple standard field sobriety tests and was transported to the Auburn barracks, where he provided a breath sample of .17.
Haines was issued uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Fleming Court on May 8.
