In girls’ action, in a game you heard on WFLR, Penn Yan dropped Maine-Endwell, 7-3; while Wayne romped over Gates-Chili, 13-2.
In high school softball, RFA edged Auburn, 6-5; Alexander took out Midlakes, 14-8; and then Lyons, 6-3; and Honeoye hammered Naples, 21-4. One area baseball score: Honeoye coasted by Naples, 16-6.

In NHL news, the Buffalo Sabres won the 1st overall pick in the draft lottery, the 1st time they’ll pick first since 1987. Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is expected to be their choice.
