On April 22, 2018 at about 8:58pm, Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Jon C. Lamere, age 27, of 920 Caroline Road, Waterloo, New York, on charges of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a Class C Felony, and Menacing in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred at his residence where Lamere was engaged in a heated dispute with his roommate. During the dispute, Lamere discharged a 20 gauge shotgun three times in the general proximity of the victim. Initial responding Sheriff’s Deputies quickly apprehended Lamere at the scene without incident.
The victim was uninjured during the incident and was never struck by any gunfire. The victim was also checked over at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance.
Lamere was arraigned in the Junius Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2,000 cash bail/$4,000 secured bond. Lamere is to reappear in the Junius Town Court on April 26, 2018 at 7:30pm. A Class A Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
The New York State Police, New York State Park Police, and Seneca Falls Police Department also responded to the scene.
