On Wednesday April 23, 2018 at approximately 14:57 PM the Victor, Fishers and Fishers Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 7134 Dryer Road T/O Victor-Ontario County. Initial arriving firefighters reported smoke coming from a storage shed. The fire was reported to the Ontario County E-911 Center by a passing motorist who reported seeing smoke coming from the shed. The Victor Fire Department was assisted on-scene by the following: Fishers Fire Department and Victor Farmington Ambulance. No injuries to firefighters were reported. The fire was placed Under Control at 15:20 by Victor FD Incident Command.
The 12’ by 145’ storage shed was used to store a variety of tools. The structure and contents were destroyed by the fire. The fire also damaged a 2000 Ford F350 pick-up truck.
The fire remains under investigation by the Victor FD and the Ontario County Fire Coordinator. Preliminary results of the Origin & Cause Fire Investigation indicate the fire was caused by burning of a brush pile. The investigation is ongoing. The State-wide Burn ban remains in effect for open burning and outdoor fires due to the dry conditions. The Burn Ban remains in effect until May 15, 2018.
