Friends and Family are invited to call Thursday (April 26) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral mass will be held Friday (April 27) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Waterloo. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterloo.

Joy was born August 26, 1932 in Rochester, N.Y., daughter of the late Theodore F. and Marion (Wallace) Martens. She was a graduate of Caledonia High School and moved to the Seneca Falls-Waterloo area in 1960. She worked for Seneca Abstract Corp. and then in several departments of Seneca County, retiring in 1991 from Family Court. She was a member of Catholic Daughters Court #906 and Taylor Brown Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters Vickie Joy Swinehart, Kim (John) Rose, Sharon (Bruce) MacDonald and Lori (Richard) Swinehart; grandchildren Michael and MacKenzie Swinehart, John Rose, Beth Rose Sherlock, Brian, Andrew, Justin, Gregg and Kyle MacDonald, Christopher and Joshua Zona; great-grandchildren Ciera Rose, Karter Sherlock, Avah, Noelle and Oliver MacDonald and Kayden Zona; sister-in-law, Lena DiPronio; brothers-in-law Edward Stephany, Ivan (Diana) Carson; devoted son-in-law, Nicholas Zona; special friend, Gerald Gray; and several nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her husbands George W. DiPronio in 2012 and Victor K. Carson in 1976; her sister, Jean M. Holefelder in 1994; and great-grandson, Kalen Sherlock in 2017.
