Albert A. Colacino , 101, died on Friday (April 20,2018), at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
A Mass will be held at 10 a.m.on Wednesday (April 25) at St. Michael’s Church, Newark. Burial will be in Newark cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Albert was co-owner of “The Man’s Shop , a popular clothing store on Main St., in Newark for many years. He was treasurer and member of the Newark-Wayne Community Baseball Inc. for the NYP League Newark Co-Pilots. He was also a member of the National Association of Baseball Writers. His clothing store was the meeting place for Major League Scouts and other baseball personnel when visiting Newark. In the 1940’s he held a New York State Boxing License as a trainer and worked the Golden Gloves and Pros and Amateurs. Albert was very active in village and civic affairs. He was a former committeeman for County and Town Democrats, member of the Newark Booster Club, member of the National Rifle Association, and Fishing Club of America. He was a life member of the Newark Elks , a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and was a member of the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association. He also held many offices on the Newark Council. Albert was an avid hunter, fisherman, chocolate pie eater, and Dodger fan. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his nephew, Richard DeFabio; nephew -in-law, James Quinn, and four great nephews: Brendan, Shawn, Ryan Quinn, and Gregory DeFabio.
He was predeceased by his parents Gregory and Mary; two sisters Theresa, and Margaret DeFabio, three brothers Charles, Thomas, and Joseph; and niece, Elaine (DeFabio) Quinn.
