Philip Arndt, 71, passed away, Wednesday (April 11, 2018) at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic, with his family by his side.
Friends and family are invited to call Sunday (April 15) from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to Beverly’s Animal Shelter, 50 East River Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.
Papa was born September 10, 1946 in Waterloo, the son of the late Daniel and Edna (Hauf) Arndt. He was a graduate of Pal-Mac High School and worked as a salesman for Griffith Energy in Lodi. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing “keno” (quick draw), “He was a lottery winner, and he just needed to remember where he put that ticket.” He was a member of the North and South Seneca Sportsman Clubs and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joan M. (Laude) Arndt of Waterloo, whom he married on August 21, 1987; his daughter, April (Timothy) Desso of Portland Conn.; his sons August (Nicole) Arndt of East Hampton Conn., and Skip (Regina) Marvin of Tuckerton N.J.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; the love of his life, his dog, “Bud”; a sister, Jane (Bud) Lawson of Knoxville Tenn.; a brother, Robert Arndt of Geneva; a sister-in-law, Flossie Arndt of Waterloo; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Papa is preceded in death by his son, John Robert Marvin; brothers Daniel, Marvin, Herman and John Arndt; sisters-in-law Louisa and Florence Arndt.
