A Seneca County brewery was the fastest growing in New York State and one of the fastest growing in the entire country last year.
War Horse Brewing Co., a part of the Three Brothers Wineries & Estate complex , on Seneca Lake, ranked No. 17 nationwide. That was a New York brewery’s highest position on the list.
The list was compiled by The Brewers Association of Bolder, Colorado. It reported that the median annual production volume for the breweries on the list was 284 barrels in 2016 and 963 barrels in 2017. A barrel is 31 gallons.
The number of breweries in New York has more than doubled since 2012, now reaching about 400.
A brewery in New Paltz and in Holbrook on Long Island were the others to make the list.
