Officials with the Auburn School District continue to crunch the budget numbers this week, but the numbers don’t add up. The recently passed state budget gave the district a paltry $150,000 increase in state aid, leaving the district facing a $2.6 Million budget deficit in the upcoming school year.
Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News they’re trying to trim as much from the budget as they can.
He added they’re trying as hard as they can to not cut positions.
Pirozzolo is hoping they can come up with a balanced budget by next Tuesday’s budget workshop. The district has to have the 2018-19 school year budget completed by the end of the month.
