Auburn Police continue their investigation into the discovery of a bullet outside of Auburn High School yesterday morning. The bullet was found by a student who immediately notified the school resource officer.
Chief Shawn Butler said on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News from the student, to police to the school district, the incident was handled in textbook fashion.
Deputy Chief Roger Anthony added there’s always a concern about copycat incidents, especially in the wake of a major event like the Parkland, Florida massacre.
The school district sent out a robocall notifying parents of the incident shortly after the SRO swept the area where the bullet was found and examined surveillance video before determining there was no credible threat to students or staff.
