Two Penn Yan women were taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua after being involved in a one-car accident Tuesday afternoon on State Route 245 in the town of Italy.
17-year-old Mary Ingram was traveling south shortly before 4 p.m. when she apparently fell asleep. Her car left the west side of the roadway, striking several tree limbs that had been cut down before crashing into a tree.
Ingram and her passenger, 54-year-old Johnna Ingram complained of chest and arm pain. Investigators say both were wearing seat belts.
