Gordon “Spike” Hamburg, age 66, passed away on Friday (March 16, 2018) at the Pines of Peace, Ontario.
Calling hours will be held Sunday (March 25) from 2 to 4 p.m. at the R.A. Patrick Funeral Home, 26 West Main Street, Clifton Springs. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pines of Peace, Comfort Care Home, 2378 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY 14519 in Spike’s memory.
Spike was born February 8, 1952 in Clifton Springs the son of the late Phillip “Ed” Hamburg and Esther Brockman Hamburg. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a collector of anything, from tools to lighters. Spike was a jack of all trades and was always there to lend a hand to family and friends, mowing thier lawns or fixing whatever needed his attention.
Spike will be sadly missed by his son, Tod (Christine) Hamburg; grandchildren Alyssa, Michael, Brendan and Connor; siblings Gary (Janet) Hamburg, Bonnie (Lynn) Wheeler, Esther McLoud, Phillip “Jake” Hamburg and Cindy Aikey; step-children Carrissa Kohn-Johnson and her daughter, Bella, Merritt (Angelina) Kohn and their children Julien, Alex, Ethan and Emma; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Spike is predeceased by his parents Phillip “Ed” and Esther Hamburg; niece, Jennifer Hamburg Gage; companion, Joan Kohn.
