Tourism officials from across the state were in Albany on Monday for the annual Tourism Action Day.
Cayuga County Tourism Director Meg Vanek said on Thursday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the day is a chance to lobby for support of the industry.
She added their efforts produced a positive result.
In addition to creating 1,700 jobs and generating $12.6 Million in state and local taxes, tourism in 2017 provided each county household $380 in tax relief. For the first time ever, visitors spent more than $100 Million on a half dozen tourism related categories.
