The Pennsylvania man accused of killing a Big Flats man during a home invasion last November committed suicide in his Chemung County Jail cell Tuesday night.
Curtis Burrows had been accused of fatally shooting 60-year-old Timothy Webster after breaking into Webster’s Reasor Hollow Road home and stealing his truck November 2nd. Authorities say the 32-year-old also tried to abduct a woman in Corning prior to the fatal shooting but ended up stealing her car and crashing that.
He pleaded not guilty to a laundry list of charges in both Steuben and Chemung Counties, including first-and-second degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of grand larceny.
The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suicide.
