A 42-year-old Ithaca man will spend the next 8 years in prison after pleading guilty Monday robbing an elderly couple in Enfield back in 2016.
Benjamin Spradlin pleaded guilty to a felony robbery charge. He entered the home of an elderly couple late one November 2016 afternoon, pointed a pistol at the couple and demanded money. He then fled to a nearby cornfield but was taken into custody by police a short time later.
Spradlin was arrested three months prior to that incident on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, stolen property, and controlled substance after being found slumped over in a car by Ithaca Police in the Tops parking lot.
