History was made Friday as the snow fell in Syracuse. The final count was 16.7 inches in a city known for significant snow. Although it was not the snowiest day in the history of the city, the number does crack the top 20.
According to Syracuse.com, Friday’s snow comes in at number 16. The record for most snow stands at 34 inches set in February 1946.
For the season, Syracuse has now seen 124.2 inches of snow this winter, which is more than the average total snowfall.
