Martha Rosa Shumway Lewis Amidon, 94 of Canoga, peacefully went to be with the Lord and Savior on February 26, 2018 at the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, N.Y.
Friends may call Monday (March 5, 2018) from 1 to 2 p.m. with services at 2 p.m. at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State St. Seneca Falls with The Rev. Canon Jason D. Lewis, Grandson and Rev. Heather Brown, Granddaughter officiating. Spring interment will be at Canoga Cemetery.

Martha was born February 22, 1924 at home in Vermontville, N.Y., daughter of Caussius Shumway and Laura Banker Shumway. She was married to Howard Amidon on July 6, 1963 and they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this July. She was an avid gardener, loved hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. She was a member of the Seneca Falls Church of the Nazarene where she served as a children’s Sunday School teacher for many years.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, Howard E. Amidon; sons Rev. William (Donna) Lewis, Jr. of Seneca Falls, Thomas (Mary Ann) Lewis of Ovid; brother, Clifford (Sheila) Shumway of Waterloo; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her first husband William Lewis Sr.; son, Anthony Lewis; and several brothers and sisters.
