Auburn City Council tonight is expected to vote to settle a lawsuit stemming from a 2009 incident. They’ll vote to pay Safety Kleen $30,000 after the company sued in 2013, claiming it picked up contaminated oil from the city landfill in contravention of its contract with the city.
Also on tonight’s agenda is a resolution to appoint Pastor Patrick Heery to a 3-year term as a member of the Auburn Human Rights Commission. Rev. Heery has been the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church since May of 2016.
Council will also vote on a resolution that the expansion of the Court Street parking lot will not have a significant impact on the environment. The Negative Declaration complies with state environmental law and is required by the NY State Environmental Quality Review Act.
