Gordon J. Williams age 92, died on Saturday (February 24, 2018) at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.
There will be no prior calling hours. Burial will be held in the spring at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Phelps American Legion 1346 State Rt. 96 Phelps, NY 14532.
Mr. Williams was born on April 2, 1925 in Watertown, N.Y. the son of the late Robert and Katherine Larmon Williams. He was a carpenter for over 50 years with the Rochester Carpenters Union Local #276 in Rochester. Mr. Williams was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Military Police Battalion. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Williams and his wife were members of the New York State Steam Association.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet Williams of Manchester; children Diane (Gilbert) Norris of Fla., Raymond (Dawn) Lawson of Clifton Springs, Duane (Yvonne) Lawson of Waterloo, James (Nancy) Lawson of Stanley, Doreen Vine of Phelps, Ronald (Sharon) Lawson of Canandaigua; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
