Mrs. Emma Valder, 79, of Hecker Rd., passed away on Friday (February 23, 2018) in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday (February 27, 2018). Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Lean Shipley will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Border City Fire Department.
Emma was born in Brooklyn, New York, and resided most of her life in Waterloo. She was the daughter of the late John and Emma Myers Ramey. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to babysitting several children. She was a past president of the Serven Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Valder Sr.; her son, Charles (Michele) Valder Jr. of Auburn; her daughter, Debra Williams of Waterloo; her brothers James (Linda) Raney of Fla. and William (Marge) Raney of Calif.; two grandchildren, Jessica Dean and Jamie Norcott; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Silsa, Harper and Gavin; several nieces and nephews.
