Vernie Adam, 100, passed away Sunday (February 18, 2018) at her home of 59 years.
Friends and family may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday (February 23)at the Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral service will immediately follow calling hours at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in the Spring at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be directed to the March of Dimes, 515 Madison Avenue, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10222 .
Vernie was born November 13, 1917 in Phelps, N.Y. the daughter of the late William G. and Hattie M. (Wilson) Edington. She was a homemaker who thoroughly loved her family, taking care of her vegetable and flower gardens, canning, baking cookies and breads and making hamburger soup. She was a member of T.O.P.S. and Home Bureau where she enjoyed getting together with her friends.
Vernie is survived by her daughters Gail (John) Bruciak of Texas and Bonnie (Tom) Ellis of Florida; grandchildren Dawn (Mike) Schell of Waterloo and Wendy (Jim) Pokrzywa of Seneca Falls; great-grandchildren Megan, Lindsay, Shelby, Rebecca and Andrew; great-great-grandchildren Josslyne Irwin and Jaxxon Small; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vernie is predeceased by her husband Andrew R. Adam and several sisters and brothers.
