Robert Carlton Mattice, age 79, passed away on February 13, 2018 at in Scottsdale, Arizona.
A funeral service will be held at Weldon Funeral Home in Penn Yan at 9 a.m. on February 23, 2018. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Penn Yan.
Robert was born on November 14, 1938 in Penn Yan, New York to Clifford Mattice and Eleanor Olsen. Robert grew up in Bellona and Penn Yan, New York. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1957 and excelled in track and field. He had a keen interest in camping, photography, science projects and airplanes. He was learning to fly before he was eighteen years old. In 1984 he married Jessica, in Arizona, and they were happily married for thirty five years.
Robert had work and ocean “adventures”. He spent a few years exploring the Eastern coast of the United States. In the late 1960’s Bob worked for Barker Products, started a new business and built “Macronetics” into a multimillion dollar semiconductor equipment company. In the 1980’s he worked for Minolta Corporation Business Equipment Division and was consistently regarded as one of the top salesmen for eight years. From 1985 to 2005, he developed the “Pacifica” brand of disposable medical devices and earned valuable contracts with well-known companies. He sold his company and took a seven year sabbatical in Xiamen, China, where he learned to speak Chinese. In 2013 he returned to his Scottsdale home, where Robert enjoyed hobbies of reading, writing and stock trading.
?Robert is survived by his spouse, Jessica of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sister, Donna Jean Graham in Wilcott, New York; his daughters Emily Shook of Sadelia, Colorado and Joanne Finley of Larkspur, Colorado.
