Parents in the Port Byron School District are concerned about a lack of transparency following the arrest last week of a 12-year old student for allegedly making terroristic threats.
State Police were notified about an Instagram post on Thursday night, but Emily Laframboise tells Finger Lakes News Radio parents weren’t notified until District Superintendent Neil O’Brien sent out a mass email on Friday afternoon.
She wants to know why parents were told there was no threat.
She adds there’s been no communication from school officials since the email was sent out on Friday afternoon.
Laframboise posted a video on her Facebook page on Sunday, which has already received over 27,000 views. The 12-year old is scheduled to appear in Cayuga County Family Court on Tuesday.
