Ronald A. King, 93, of Rose St., passed away on Tuesday (February 13, 2018) in Geneva General Hospital.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva on Monday (February 19, 2018) from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Phyllis Granger, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Geneva will officiate.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday (April 30, 2018) the 72 wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. King, in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of ones choice in his memory.
Ron was born in Waterloo and has resided in this area all of his life. He was the son of the late Sydney and Marguerite Avery King. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps during World War 11. He was employed at the Seneca News Agency for many years before his retirement. He was a member and Past Commander of Winnek Post #396 American Legion, a longtime member of the Geneva Democratic Committee. He served as a sports Referee for over 50 years for Baseball and Basketball in the Finger Lakes region. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons David King and Darryl King both of Geneva and Kevin King of Romulus; his daughter, Rebecca Doebler of Geneva; his brother, James King of Waterloo; his sister, Kristin Long of Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne King; and his brother, Geoffrey King.
