The Cayuga Onondaga BOCES board on Thursday night unanimously voted to appoint a the new district superintendent.
After nearly a year without a leader, the BOCES has hired Dr. Brian Hartwell. He is currently the superintendent with the Pulaski Academy & Central School District.
During his time at the Oswego City School District, he worked with CiTi BOCES to help fund, develop, and implement the CiTi Autism Program, which was created in response to the regional need to assist autistic children. The program has grown and become a model for the New York State Education Department.
Dr. Hartwell is expected to start in his new post on May 21.
