An incident at a Route 96 apartment in Romulus late Monday night resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man on four counts of menacing a police officer.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Anthony Battisti’s residence after 9-1-1 received a call from a third party stating Battisti had threatened to physically harm them and harm himself. When deputies made contact with Battisti at his door, he refused to comply with their orders. He went back inside his apartment, grabbed a baseball bat and came back out threatening officers physically and verbally. Deputies were finally able to take Battisti into custody after using a taser.
He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
