The investigation into several guns being stolen from a residence in the town of Hopewell has resulted in the arrest of two people.
Investigators learned an unidentified 16-year-old Hopewell boy stole a handgun and two rifles from the home and sold two of the guns to 21-year-old Christian Garcia, of Geneva, who then resold the guns. The 16-year-old was charged with grand larceny and Garcia was charged with criminal possession of stolen property. Following their arraignment, both suspects were sent to Ontario County Jail. One of the guns was recovered in the city of Geneva by detectives with the Geneva Police Department. The investigation into the location of the remaining weapons is continuing along with attempting to identify additional suspects.
Additional charges against Garcia and the 16-year-old are pending.
