A 43-year-old Seneca Falls man was sentenced in a Rochester federal courtroom Thursday to three years probation and was ordered to pay 107-THOUSAND dollars in restitution to the IRS.
James LaRock, the Second, was convicted last year of filing a false tax return. The federal government said from 2010 through 2013, LaRock, who is self-employed in the logging and firewood business, filed false personal income tax returns. Among other things, he understated his gross receipts and omitted the cost of goods.
In total, LaRock omitted approximately 280-THOUSAND dollars in taxable income, resulting in a tax loss of 107-THOUSAND dollars to the IRS.
