A guilty plea this week from the Tompkins County man accused in the death of a 28-year-old Ithaca transgender woman last June.
46-year-old Michael Davis admitted to intentionally causing the death of Josie Berrios in the early morning hours of June 13th in the city of Ithaca. Berrios’ body was located in a Dryden Road apartment building that was under construction. Investigators said there signs of a fire at the crime scene. Investigators identified a personal relationship between the victim and Davis. As part of his plea, Davis waived his right to appeal.
He faces 15 to 25 years to life in prison when sentenced March 28th.
