The Yates County Republican Committee has become the first Republican county committee to announce support for Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb in the race for the GOP nomination for Governor of New York.
The endorsement was the result of a straw poll performed at a meeting on Saturday.
“Assemblyman Kolb represents our Republican values,” said County GOP Chair Sandy King. “He is well known to the citizens of Yates County and has the experience, policy knowledge, drive and tenacity to campaign against and ultimately defeat Andrew Cuomo and become the next governor of New York State.
“Minority Leader Kolb is a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights, addressing spending in New York government, repealing state mandates, lowering taxes, promoting a business friendly environment, addressing the corruption in New York State government and bringing government back to the people and out of the hands of corrupt government officials and Andrew Cuomo.
“We Republicans in Yates County look forward to supporting Assemblyman Brian Kolb for governor and ultimately electing him as the governor of the State of New York,” King concluded.
Kolb, of Canandaigua, has served in the Assembly since 2000, representing all of Ontario County and portions of Seneca County.
