Gov. Cuomo will unveil his proposed 2018 budget on Tuesday.
The state is looking at a $4 Billion deficit due to lower than expected tax revenues, and lawmakers face a number of tough decisions if they hope to pass the budget by April 1.
Cuomo has hinted he’ll propose sweeping changes to the state’s tax code in the wake of the passage of the federal tax overhaul, which caps the deduction for state and local taxes at $10,000. Republicans are skeptical of his plan and his promise to balance the budget without spending increases on a number of big ticket proposals
