The Auburn Rotary Club chose the coldest time of year to announce some hot news concerning the 2018 Rotary Ribs, Rhythm and Blues Festival. Ed Helinski said on Thursday’s Finger Lakes Morning News a pair of high energy blues bands will be this year’s feature acts.
The Rotary Ribs Rhythm & Blues Festival is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event and a New York State Championship. Last year 27 teams from all over the Northeast and Canada competed in the event and more than 5,000 people attended the festival despite wet weather conditions.
Because of the first year success, it’s anticipated the number of competing barbeque teams plus other food vendors as well as display and craft vendors will increase.
Bob Edmunds said once again this year, the proceeds from the 3-day festival will support Rotary’s local initiatives.
The 2nd annual Rotary Ribs, Rhythm and Blues Festival is July 19, 20 and 21 at Deauville Island. You can learn more at the festival website.
