The transfer of control of the Owasco Lake watershed inspection program to the Owasco Lake Management Council from the County Soil and Water Conservation District could be finalized early in the new year. The transfer is being held up while the City of Auburn reviews the Council bylaws.
Cayuga County Planning Director Steve Lynch tells Finger Lakes News Radio earlier this month the amended bylaws were sent to the city’s Corporation Counsel.
Lynch adds he has no problem with the city doing its due diligence.
The transition has already been approved by the county and the Town of Owasco.
