They are doing well. The Geneva School system took in 26 hurricane refugees this past September, 23 from Puerto Rico, 2 from Texas and one from the U.S.Virgin Islands. School Supt. Trina Newton says the kids are resilient and acclimating quickly to their new surroundings. What’s been the hardest part of the transition?
Newton says the community has responded generously to make sure the kids needs are met.
The school system is also providing help for parents who are looking for employment.
