Why should you get a ticket for violating winter parking rules when there’s no snow? The city of Geneva has decided you shouldn’t.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the city’s starting a pilot program under which residents will get email alerts letting them know when plowing will take place. City Manager Matt Horn says the idea was one that emerged from a recent downtown parking study. Residents will get emails by eight o’clock the night before the 2-6 AM parking ban will be enforced. On streets that have alternate-side parking rules, residents will be allowed to park on either side of the street as long as there’s no snow.
