Christmas came early for Cayuga County and Central New York with last week’s announcement of the Regional Economic Development Council awards.
Tracy Verrier of Cayuga Strategic Solutions said on Monday’s Finger Lakes Morning News it was the fifth time in the seven years of the awards that the CNY Council came out on top of all other regions.
Meg Vanek from Tourism Cayuga said funding for Emerson Park and other projects will benefit tourism across the county.
Vanek and Verrier both agreed that funding for water quality issues is the thread that weaves through most, if not all of the projects.
The region was awarded over $86 Million, with state funding supporting 26 projects within Cayuga County.
