As the City of Auburn moves ahead with building a new playground at Casey Park, they are now looking for volunteers to help. The city is working with Ithaca-based Play by Design to create the playground.
A meeting was held last evening at Casey Park Elementary School, where residents were able to offer their own input into the design of the playground. Earlier this week, Auburn Senior Planner Rene Jensen told us the playground will be all-inclusive and accessible for handicapped children.
The Citizen reports the playground will be between 10-thousand and 15-thousand square feet. Funding for the project, which is estimated to be 215-thousand-dollars, is coming from the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant.
If you’re interested in volunteering to build the playground, call the Office of Planning and Economic Development at 315-255-4115.
