Patricia McGuire Kirk, 86, died Sunday, (December 3), at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The family will hold a private memorial.
She was born in Geneva, NY, on May 25, 1931, to the late Emmitt and Margaret Burke McGuire. A graduate of DeSales High School, she worked for many years for New York Telephone before retiring to the Carolina Trace community near Sanford, N.C., where she lived for 25 years. She spent her final four years at Vienna Village Assisted Living in Pfafftown, N.C.
Mrs. Kirk had a wide circle of friends, gave to a variety of charities, and was particularly fond of reading and music. She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Edwin Kirk of Pfafftown, N.C; by her sister, Ellen Hauge of New Hampshire; and brother, James McGuire of Pennsylvania; by her sons Thomas Kirk (Mary McNerney) of Baldwinsville, N.Y. and Stephen (Mary) Kirk of Pfafftown, N.C.; by her granddaughters Elizabeth (Peter) Jin of Madison, Wis. and Rebecca Kirk (Zachary MacHardy) of Durham, N.C.; and by many nieces and nephews.
