Last week, Auburn School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo led a delegation to Albany to meet with the Senate Finance Committee. They pressed their case for the elimination of the Income Wealth Index in the Foundation Aid formula.
Pirozzolo says the lawmakers keep moving the goalposts.
He tells Finger Lakes News Radio he’ll continue the fight in 2018.
While district officials say eliminating the IWI floor would bring the district $2.2 Million more each year, the committee members claimed because Foundation Aid is not fully funded the district would only get an additional $110,000.
