Kratom is an herbal supplement that many people use for pain relief and to ward off depression and anxiety. State Senator Pam Helming is worried
about kids using it and becoming addicted. She and Assemblyman Joe Morelle are introducing legislation to ban the sale of Kratom to people under 18.
The Senate and Assembly bills also call on the State Health Department to conduct an in depth study on the benefits and risks of Kratom . Kratom leaves can be eaten raw, but more often they are crushed and brewed as tea . Kratom also comes in capsule, tablet or liquid form .
