Eleanor was born in Rochester, the daughter of Onofrio and Rose (Cravotta) Montalbano. She worked for Bausch & Lomb, where she met the love of her life, Delfio. They were married in Rochester, on August 19, 1944. She and Delfio lived for many years in Friendship N.Y., where they raised their family. In 1990, they moved to Canandaigua and spent their remaining days there.
She was a woman of enormous good cheer and to her children, a shining example of dignity, tenderness and toughness, fairness and compassion. While she was fiercely devoted to her family, she always maintained an independent spirit. Her many interests included travelling with Delfio, often to visit her children. She was involved in various community activities including the Musical Literary Club, Altar Society and enjoyed knitting and regularly donated her creations to the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Eleanor was also an avid bowler, a fantastic baker, and a music lover.
Eleanor was the bright star in the constellation of her family. She is survived by five children Francine (Richard) Cuykendall, Della R. Mancuso, John (Kari) Mancuso, Michele (Martin) Lumet and Christine (John) Krueger; six grandchildren Scott (Jennifer) Cuykendall, Andrew (Bari) Cuykendall, Max and Daniel Krueger, Derek and Carmen Mancuso; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Mancuso; and several nieces and nephews.
