Charles “Hoopie” Harper, 87, of Route 88S died Thursday (November 23, 2017).
A memorial service will be held Wednesday (November 29) 11:00 a.m. at Schulz- Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct. Newark. Private burial with military honors in E. Newark Cemetery. Memorials to Oncology Dept. of Clifton Springs Hospital, Coulter Rd. Clifton Springs.
Hoopie was born in Clyde, February 16, 1930, son of Selah and Ruth Harper. He worked at Fold Pak for 42 years as a pressman. He served in the army in the Korean War (51-53). He was a member of the American Legion of Newark and loved gardening and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters Susan (Steve) Safford of Newark and Sheryl Harper of Rochester; son, Ronald (Michele) Harper of Newark; sister, Janet (Bev) Mosher of Lyons; five grandchildren John, Nicole, Sean, Paige, and Jack; several great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife, Helen (April 24, 1997).
